Don't Give Up on Your God Given Dreams - Continued
From the gold fields of California was another famed failure story. This guy gave up just as the man that gave up three feet from gold. He also sold his equipment. He noticed that the clothes miners wore faded and tore easily. He used the fabric of his tent to sow trousers and tried it out. It was rugged and up to the task. Levi jeans was born. Again, the rest is history
How many times have we given up three feet from our destination. Ninety out of one hundred businesses fail after five years. Of the ten that remain, nine fail in the next five years. So in ten years, there is only one business left standing out of a hundred. Why did the ninety nine give up?
Why do folks give up?
It is tempting to judge based on what we can see. More often than not, what we see is not the whole picture. What we see is based on where we are standing, and what we are seeing and hearing. If we try another point of view (look at the scene from another angle), what you will see is completely different. Apparent failure and lack of progress is not total failure, it is simply a delay. Delay is not denial.
Sometimes it is not even a delay, you are making progress and impact, but you are not seeing from where you are standing. And because you are not seeing it, you become discouraged and even depressed.
If you commit to breasting the finish line and know that setbacks is part of the game, you will have fun and tackle the challenges head on as they come.
Nobody said the road was easy. There are bumps and potholes on the way. Sometimes you may have to take a diversion and enter the bush for a season. Sometimes you may have to put your vehicle on reverse gear, and in some instance, come to a stop for a while. We sure will make mistakes on the way and stumble sometimes. If you know this upfront and brace up for it, making up your mind to rise and continue each time you fall, you will make it to the finish line.
If you are on the right path, settle it within you that challenges and unpleasant surprises will spring at you. Settle it within you that no matter what may come your way, you will not turn back from your God given dreams. You will keep on keeping on. Tears may tary for the night, joy comes in the morning.
Do not give up on your God given dreams. God has not given up on you.
