President Muhammadu Buhari has backed the emergence of a southerner as the presidential candidate on the platform of APC for the 2023 Presidential elections.
He made this known at a dinner with the 23 All Progressives Congress presidential aspirants in Abuja. This is after 10 Northern APC Governors made a similar decision earlier today, asking all Northern Presidential aspirants to step down accordingly.
Governor of Jigawa State Mohammed Badaru has withdrawn from the presidential race as a result of the decision.
