Buhari and Emefiele meet again

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday met behind ‘closed doors’ with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele over scarcity of the new naira notes.

This is the sixth time the president and Emefiele has had encounter over the CBN’s Naira redesign policy that is crippling the nation’s economy.

Today’s meeting took place at the State House, Abuja shortly after the president arrived from launch of Critical Operational Assets procured by the Nigeria Police Force at the Force Headquarters.

Emefiele reportedly arrived the State House around 1.00pm to meet with the president and left without speaking with newsmen.

Buhari had told Nigerians to give him seven days to halt the scarcity of the naira and it is 10 days now, but he has not been able to do anything.

Nigerians are angry over the scarcity of the naira. Most banks are shut and ere not dispensing the new notes in their ATMs or inside the banks.

Long queues are experienced in the few ATMs or banks that are giving out cash to the public.
