Glo Emerges ‘Outstanding Telecom Brand Of The Year’

Foremost telecommunications company, Globacom, last week­end garnered two prestigious awards at the 2023 Brands and Advertising Awards organized by brand and marketing commu­nication industry giant, Market­ing Edge.

Glo received “Outstanding Telecoms Brand of the Year” and the “TV Commercial of the Year” awards at a ceremo­ny held at The Podium Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos. The event also coincided with the 20th anni­versary of Marketing Edge and the awards were in recognition of Globacom’s contributions to Nigeria’s telecom sector.

Speaking at the event, CEO of Marketing Edge Limited, Mr John Ajayi, noted that Globacom was deemed worthy of the Tele­com Brand of the Year award for its market-leading services to Nigeria in the telecoms sector. The telecommunications giant has, in its 20 years of operations, been focused on offering unlimit­ed value to customers across the country.

The award for the TV Com­mercial of the Year for its com­mercial, Front Row Seat, which projected the power of individ­uals to attain any goal with the necessary tool of data at their disposal, was also awarded to the company. Aside from the winning advert, Globacom has carved a niche for itself owing to its profound and creative adver­tising content since its rollout.

Doyen of the advertising world, Mr. Steve Omojafor, noted at the event that Marketing Edge is the only Nigerian marketing communications publication with high repute beyond the shores of Nigeria.

Globacom also recently re­ceived honours at the second annual Consumer Value Awards. The awards, which were decided by online votes by members of the public over several weeks, saw Globacom winning the “Best Value for Money Data & ISP Brand of the Year 2023” and “Best Value for Money Telecom­munication Service of the Year 2023” awards.
