Dr. Mike Adenuga (Jr) was born in 1953 in the ancient Nigerian city of Ibadan, into the family of Chief Michael Agbolade Adenuga (Snr) and Madam Oyindamola Adenuga. He is an alumnus of the famous Ibadan Grammar School, in Oyo State Nigeria, North Western State University, Alva Oklahoma, and Pace University, New York, both in the United States of America.As a university student in the United States of America, he held two difficult jobs. Taxi driver and security guard. He was educated in Northwestern State University, Alva, Oklahoma, and Pace University, New York, where he majored in business administration with emphasis in marketing.

Conoil Producing LimitedAdenuga was allocated oil blocks in 1990 by the Federal Government of Nigeria in a bold effort to encourage indigenous participation in crude oil exploration. He attracted national attention in 1991 when his Consolidated Oil Limited became the first indigenous oil company to strike oil in commercial quantity and produce it.

He consolidated his investment in the oil sector with the purchase of National Oil, and returned the moribund company to the path of profitability within a year of its acquisition. He eventually renamed the company Conoil Producing Limited, which is today the leading indigenous oil and gas exploration and producing company in Africa.

Globacom Limited
In the field of telecommunications, Adenuga’s Globacom Limited is Nigeria’s second National Carrier, providing services in mobile, fixed, broadband, and international gateway telephony. It launched services in Nigeria in 2005, in the Republic of Benin in 2008, and has continued its spread across West Africa with licences to operate in Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire, with more licences currently being prospected in other countries such as Togo and Senegal.
