His mother a successful fashion designer and his father the legendary actor Justus Esiri who is a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), and famous for his role as the Village Headmaster a Nigerian sitcom popular in the 1980s.

The second child of 4 children from an early age he had his heart set on becoming an entertainer. However his life took a different course graduating from the Nigerian Air force Secondary school Ikeja, SID went on to the University of Ibadan (UI) to study Dental Surgery, During his school years his flair for entertainment could not be hidden as he took part in school plays, dance competitions and concerts winning numerous awards along the way.

Having started out as a choreographer then rap art with the Tribesmen as far back as 1999, Dr Sid moved to the UK for his masters; where he met and worked with JJC & the 419 squad, Felix Duke, KAS and R70. Returning to Nigeria he spent the Next year working at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, and then went on to serve his country at Yola in Adamawa state. He also worked at various dental clinics combining dentistry and music.

In 2005 he finally quit Dentistry, to fully focus on his musically career and he got signed on to their label Mohits records. In 2005, they released the first Mohits All Star Album Curriculum Vitae (CV) which was released in December 2007. He featured on 7 of the 15 tracks released on the album, which include “Booty Call” and “Close to you”.

Dr SID spent most of 2006, 2007 and 2008 touring with the Mo Hits Allstars, and performing at some of the major concerts, including the Thisday Music Festival and Star Mega Jam. Dr SID started recording his first studio album as a solo artist under Mo’ Hits Records with producer Don Jazzy.

The first single of the album Turning Point, “Something about You was released in September 2009 and moved up African charts alongside two other Winchi Winchi and Pop Something. He also performed at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Kenya as a member of the Mo’ Hits Allstars.

After the dissolution of Mohits Records, Dr Sid teamed up with Don Jazzy who was starting a new record label called Mavin Records. Under Mavin Records Dr Sid released his sophomore album Titled Siduction in 2013, with Hit single Surulere quickly becoming an Anthem around the continent, while baby Tornado featuring Alexandre Burke became a huge success in the UK .

Songs like Oyari featuring fellow Mavin superstar Tiwa Savage, Chop Ogobono and Last Bustop; a song he dedicated to his wife, also made the cut as part of the biggest songs of the album.
It was safe to say Dr Sid had carried over the music mojo from Mohits into the new Mavin Records and had even taken it a notch up. With over a decade stay in the industry, Dr Sid was not scared to have a fresh start with Mavin Records and no sooner had they started to grace the stages of the biggest events across and beyond Africa where they performed their songs like Dorobucci, Looku Looku and many more.

Dr Sid also found the perfect name for his ever loyal fans and he refers to them as the Alphas.
In 2014, he got married to his long-time girlfriend Simisola Osomo in August, and his now expecting a child with her. Dr Sid ended 2014 on high by being the only fourth artist to close the business year at the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
