Business Hangout (free)
28th October, 2016
29th October, 2016
TODAY IS DIFFERENT FROM YESTARDAY BUT TOMMORROW WILL BE MUCH MORE UNPREDICTABLE BEACSUE WHAT GOT YOU HERE WONT GET YOU THERE!
The current economic situation calls for drastic action and with the rate of increasing globalization and industry convergence, no one knows for certain what 2017 or even the next few months may look like.
There is an increasing struggle between the local and the global.
The typical local Taxi driver is being challenged by the global Uber (a non-taxi service)
The average Teller in the Bank is being replaced with self-service apps and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) for cash deposit, transfer and withdrawal (which represents over 50% of banking activities)
YESTARDAY IF YOU HAD OIL AS A COUNTRY YOU WERE RICH, TODAY AS ONE OF THE TOP 10-OIL PRODUCING NATIONS (NIGERIA) IS BROKE!
The neighborhood supermarket down the street is challenged by nationwide (non-brick and mortar stores) Jumia and Konga
We’ve seen it everywhere in various industries; former jobs that used to be inside companies, e.g. Call Centre operators, Janitors, Telecoms Engineers, Drivers, IT Personnel, Logistics and many more are all being outsourced- things are changing and they are changing very fast.
NITEL’s more than 40-year monopoly in Nigeria’s telecoms sector still reminds us that incumbency will be challenged. Today we don’t even remember NITEL amongst the telecoms giants.
Airbnb has become the largest hoteling service in the world and many airline bookings in Nigeria are made from Wakanow than though any other single travel agent/agency.
You can bury your head in the sand and pretend that change is far away (until it hits you in the face) or you can simply rise up to the challenge and do something early enough.
To survive, we need to innovate (or die). Innovation is not a thing for the experts only- it involves all of us. We need to find new ways to tackle existing problems if we want to thrive and not just survive.
Where are the next jobs, the next big companies, the solutions to the problems we face? They are hidden in your innovation. We seek to help you unlock your innovative potential.
This October, we will take you on the ride into the world of Innovation and give you the rules and the tools you need to transform your world.
Please join us!
