The Adamawa State Polytechnic yola is a higher institution in Adamawa State, Nigeria. It was established in 1991 through a merger of the College of Preliminary Studies Yola and the Staff Development Institute Numan. above all, the institution provided National Diploma programs and Higher National Diploma in addition, to the programs the Institution has partnered for an undergraduate course with the universities like Ahmadu Bello University and also Federal University, Dutse in order to provide opportunities for the students of the state. The Polytechnic, run by the state and also accredited by the National Board for Technical Education.
Furthermore, the school took over the structures of the then College of Preliminary Studies, CPS, Yola which was established also by the defunct Gongola State government in 1977.
However, after the split of the then Gongola State into two States; (Adamawa and Taraba) in 1992, the Adamawa State government enacted Edict NO. 8 of 1996 to established the Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola.
In addition to Yola Main campus, the polytechnics have other campuses namely Jambutu campus and Numan campus.
Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola is structured into Rectorate and the Registry. Whereas the Rectorate is headed by the Rector who also is the Chief Executive Officer and head of the Institution, while the Registry department is headed by the Registrar who is also the head of Administration of the institution.
Furthermore, there exists the office of the Deputy Rector who is an appointee of the Rector from the senior academic staff of the Polytechnic.
In addition to the academic Colleges, there exist the Entrepreneurship Study Centre, ESC a service department providing training to students in different skills and also supporting the goal of the institution.
they are also other departments; for example, ADAPOLY VENTURES AND ADAPOLY CONSULT also exist: whereas ADAPOLY VENTURES is the commercial Unit of the institution for the purpose of boosting the Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, while ADAPOLY CONSULT offers Consultancy services in academics.ACADEMICS
