The Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) was established in 1986 to provide an efficient system of obtaining military intelligence for the Armed Forces/Ministry of Defence. This function is carried out through the defence sections. Part of the objectives of the Section are; promotion of Nigeria’s Defence Policy and enhancement of military cooperation with the host nations.
The defence sections also assist in the maintenance of the territorial integrity of Nigeria and protect the lives of her citizens.
MISSION
The DIA is to produce comprehensive, contextual and timely intelligence support to defence planners and decision makers in order to effectively enhance national security.
VISION
An Agency with well trained, patriotic and highly motivated manpower working with cutting edge technology under an effective leadership in collaboration with friendly forces that will provide comprehensive and timely defence intelligence in support of national security strategy.
