The Federal Medical Centre Birnin Kudu is an agency/parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Health

The Federal Medical Centre Birnin Kudu was established as a General Hospital in 1961 by the Late Premier of the defunct Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardaunan Sokoto. The Hospital was later converted to a tertiary institution as a Federal Medical Centre in the year 2000.

It has a total bed capacity of 250. It offers both out and in-patient specialist care. It has sixteen clinical departments which run various services as follows: Public Health, Obstetrics and Gyaneacology, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopaedic Surgery, Radiology, Family Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Ophthalmology, ENT surgery, Accident and Emergency, Anaesthesia, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Pharmacy.
