Federal Science and Technical College, Ilesa Osun State is co-educational Institution which started as a Technical College in 1988. It was one of the twelve (12) Federal Technical Colleges established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in attempt to broaden Technical Education in the country and to make it accessible to more Nigerians seeking training in technical and vocational education.
The College admitted its first batch of students in 1992 and has progressed in leaps and bounds. In the 2001/2002 session the Federal Government introduced the Science Programme into all the Federal Technical Colleges. This change means a new mandate, so in addition to Technical Education, the College provides Conventional Science Education at the Junior and Senior Secondary School. It is worthy of note that the set of students, with which this new mandate began in 2001/2002 passed out in 2007/2008 session with excellent results in both WASSCE and NECO.
