​The Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited (NPDC) with Head office in Benin City and base offices/warehouses in Port Harcourt and Warri for logistics support was established in 1988 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) with responsibility for Petroleum Exploration and Production activities.

NPDC activities cover the spectrum of the upstream Oil and Gas business. Operations are concentrated mainly in the Niger Delta and span five States (Imo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers) with over Two Hundred and Fifty-Seven (257) host communities.

NPDC has a Board of Directors, a Managing Director and five Executive Directors in charge of the five divisions (Operations, Joint Ventures, Services, Finance & Accounts and Technical Services).

Involved in 28 Concessions (21 OMLs & 7 OPLs)
100% ownership of five (5) blocks: OMLs 64, 65, 66, 111 & 119
60% participatory interest in (4) blocks: OMLs 60, 61, 62 & 63
55% equity in nine (9) blocks: OMLs 4, 26, 30, 34, 38, 40, 41, 42 & 55
Varied interest in seven (7) deepwater concessions
Non-equity operations in 3 blocks (selected NNPC JV fields)

Currently the 5th Largest Producer in the Country
Owns & operates the 7th Largest FPSO in Nigeria (FPSO Mystras)
Commenced total delivery of over 600 Million Standard Cubic Feet wet gas per day (MMSCFD) to the domestic market
