Nigeria Unveils Cutting‑Edge Digital Innovation Park in Abeokuta

The future of Nigerian tech just got brighter as Communications Minister Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani today inaugurated the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Digital Innovation Park in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The new facility—equipped with high‑speed internet, co‑working spaces and dedicated training labs—aims to jump‑start a generation of homegrown startups and arm young Nigerians with the skills demanded by the global digital economy.

Standing before a crowd of entrepreneurs, students and government officials, Dr. Tijani described the park as “a beacon for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” pledging that it will become “a launchpad where ideas are transformed into thriving businesses.” He highlighted three core pillars of the facility:

  • Youth Empowerment: Offering free and subsidized courses in coding, UX design and data science, the park will nurture technical talent drawn from nearby universities and vocational schools.
  • Startup Incubation: Selected early‑stage companies will receive mentorship, access to venture‑building workshops and opportunities to pitch before angel investors.
  • Community Transformation: The surrounding neighborhood will benefit from open‑access Wi‑Fi zones and a calendar of hackathons and meetups designed to spark local innovation and job creation.

We are committed to creating environments where young Nigerians can harness technology to solve local challenges and compete globally. “This facility is not just a building; it’s a catalyst for change. We urge our young people to take full advantage of the opportunities it offers.
