Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has been named the winner of the Power Horse Emerging Player of the Year award for the 2022 Globe Soccer Awards.
The Napoli forward took home the trophy at the 12th edition of the competition held in Dubai on Thursday, beating off intense competition from the shortlist of Barcelona’s Gavi and Valverde of Real Madrid.
The three of them were the finalists from a long list that included 2022 nominees of some of the youngest and best talents across Europe. It included Hareb Abdullah, Gavi, Ryan Gravenberch, Julian Álvarez, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga and Francisco Conceição.
Others on the list were Josko Gvardiol, Rafael Leão, Nuno Mendes, Ilaix Moriba, Jamal Musiala, Pedri, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Veron, Federico Valverde, Vitinha, Dusan Vlahović and Florian Wirtz.
