Paystack CEO’s Club Sporting Lagos Gains Promotion To Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)

Sporting Lagos was birthed in Ilaji, a quiet resort on the outskirts of Ibadan, Oyo state. The club was founded in 2022, by Paystack CEO, Shola Akinlade and exactly 16 months after Sporting Lagos played its first game in the Nigeria National League, the club met one of its targets by qualifying to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on the 3rd of July, 2023.

In the beginning, Sporting Lagos faced numerous challenges, the team also lacked experienced players.
