Unilever Nigeria Names Tobi Adeniyi as Managing Director Designate

Tobi Adeniyi as Managing Director

Unilever Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Tobi Adeniyi as its Managing Director Designate, with the role taking effect on January 1, 2025. A phased transition process will see Mr. Adeniyi working alongside the outgoing Managing Director, Mr. Tim Kleinebenne, through the end of 2024.

Tobi Adeniyi’s Career Highlights

Since joining Unilever in 2009 as a Future Leader, Mr. Adeniyi has cultivated extensive expertise in both supply chain and commercial operations. Key milestones in his career include:

  • Supply Chain Leadership: Strategic and operational excellence in logistics, planning, procurement, and sales.
  • Global Assignments: Contributions in markets such as Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
  • Transformative Leadership in Nigeria: Spearheading Unilever Nigeria’s sales transformation initiatives with impactful, nationwide results.

He also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Export Promotion Group (MANEG) and is a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD).

Mr. Kleinebenne, who will retire at the end of 2024, has been with Unilever for 33 years. His global leadership roles included postings in Germany, the Caribbean, Ethiopia, Côte d’Ivoire, and Nigeria. His tenure at Unilever Nigeria was marked by transformative initiatives and strong financial performance.

Ben Langat, Executive Vice President of Unilever East and West Africa, praised Mr. Kleinebenne’s career:
