UNN manufactures anti-COVID-19 digital machine

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, has propelled a contactless computerized hand-cleaning machine that that uses sensor to monitor body temperature, dispenses hand sanitizer, detergent and water.

Investigating the hardware created by the organization’s personnel of Engineering, the Vice-Chancellor of the establishment, Prof Charles Igwe, said that the machine was an improvement over the manual hand cleaning machine that administers cleanser and water.

“This machine is not quite the same as what we have seen previously, it performs four capacities one after another without the client reaching,” the Vice-Chancellor, who was noticeably happy said in the wake of utilizing the machine to clean his hand and measure his temperature.

He tested the Faculty of Engineering and different resources in the university to concoct more manufactures, items and structures that would directly affect the general public.

“We ought to go past composing research papers to the creation of machines, hardware and structures that will tackle the various issues in our general public,” he said while complimenting the Dean of Engineering and his staff for showing initiative in designing and manufacture.

The Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Emeka Obe, while clarifying the cycles that prompted the assembling of the machine said that it was delivered inside about a month by the Auto Service Center of the workforce.

“He said that the creation cost, assessed at over N300,000.00 was contributed by the staff in the administration place drove by Engr Nwakile.

The Dean bid for sponsorship to empower the workforce to mass-produce the machine which he accepted would improve the way toward observing counteraction against COVID-19 Pandemic.
