NIGERIA FIRST PARADIGM: Reviving National Consciousness and Empowering Youth for Nation Building; www.femijoshuaglobal.com

By: Femi Joshua Global Empowerment Initiative in collaboration with National Orientation Agency.

Youths are globally recognized as the strength and pillar of any nation. They warehouse the potentials that can make or mar the political and socio-economic infrastructure of the nation. Based on United Nations estimates

Nigeria’s population is about 196 million and more than 50 percent of this figure are below the age of 30.

It has been observed in Nigeria that few youths are actively involved in nation-building. This due to perennial neglect by successive political leadership which has left most youths unemployed, idle, ill-equipped for leadership and generally apathetic towards government. It is therefore not uncommon to find disgruntled and idle youths provoking social mischief and engaging in practices that are counter productive to national growth.

We believe that the continual neglect of young Nigerians has the potential to trigger the time bomb that will result in the crippling of the nation if left unattended. It is thus imperative for Nigerians to deliberately engage in efforts that will create a paradigm shift from the current state of apathy, restlessness and suspicion to an inspired spirit of hope and patriotism in the Nigerian youth.

Now it is time to awaken the patriotic spirit and steer Nigerian youths towards the path of renewed vigor, innovation, and creativity. It is time to begin to work actively towards securing Nigeria’s great future.
