Being based in Nigeria does not restrict you from doing business on a global scale, so far as you have the payment systems aspect sorted out. There are various optios open to you to make money on the internet from Nigeria. They are:

· Promoting affiliate products
· Selling advertising space on your site
· Selling your own products
It is not best to put all your eggs in one basket, depending on only one mode of making money online. Ideally you should be using as many of these strategies together on your sites as possible, using each method as it's own stream of income. Fore example you can mix Google Adsense, banner advertising (selling advertising space on your site), promoting affiliate products and at the same time selling your own products. This depends on the type of site you run, and again, you will spread them out different sections of your site, not lumping all of them on the homepage. The best way forward is to experiment to find out what type works out best for which page of your site, are there are no hard and fast rules for all sites. Testing and measuring makes you figure out the best fit for your site.
Do not loose sight of the fact that traffic is the life blood of your online business, not just traffic, qualified traffic (people looking for what you have to offer). You have to build a decent traffic and earn trust before you think about making money from your site. If your purpose for owning a website is to make money, and you have no intention of rendering service, then forget it. You may make money initially, but it will not last. Your visitors will smell a rat, that you are not interested in them, but in quick money. If you do not earn trust, you cannot sell, offline and online. Some desperate webmasters copy content from other websites and claim to be the biggest and the best. It does not work that way. To be the best, you have to be a pathfinder, an innovator, not a cheap copy.
