Online Publishing
Online publishing in simply publishing (posting) useful information on the web. In an information age, people are looking for information on every topic under the sun. Also, the advent of the internet has triggered a gradual migration from paper to online.
We now have newspapers, libraries, maps, directories, archives, you name it, online. Hence there exists an awesome opportunity for publishers (corporate and individual) to provide this information (content) and make money for their effort.
For online publishing, the opportunities are limitless. What you can achieve is limited by your imagination. People go to Google and Yahoo to look for information. You can provide this information via your website.
Content publishing in Nigeria is relatively virgin, and easy to get into and succeed. There is so much information that is not yet online. If you set up a website and provide this content (which you cannot find somewhere else), you will not have to work very hard to have your website appear in the first page of Google search engine results pages, and there are hardly any competitors for your niche.
You can pick up any topic, and do your best to turn out an excellent product. It can be a topic you are well-versed in. e.g. fish farming, making and packaging of fruit juice, how to series (play piano, repair computers etc), home work site, recipes etc. The idea to find an area that nobody has thought of, or where you have a very few sites doing it, and you are sure you can do a much better job. The limit is your imagination
After you have decided on the area you want to focus on, you have to decide how you want to make money ultimately.
Basically, the desire for rendering service is what should drive your online adventure. If your primary motivation is how to make money, you will not last long.
After you have developed a content site with reasonable traffic (having gotten a handle on search engine optimization (SEO)), you are ready to monetize your site (start making money for your efforts).
There are many ways of achieving this, by advertising or selling products related the subject matter (yours, or others via affiliate programs).
