Exceptional Nigerian Lady Shines Bright: Achieving Two Master’s Degrees in Mathematics at a US University.

Fatima Abdulwaheed Akinola – An exceptional Mathematics genius from Nigeria who broke a 42-year-old record to secure her undergraduate degree has achieved yet another exceptional feat after earning a second Master’s degree in Mathematics.

Fatima A. Akinola became the first-ever female in the 42 years history of Usmanu Danfodiyo University to graduate with a first-class in Mathematics. She went further to earn a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics at Marshall University in the United States with a perfect grade score of 4.0/4.0 grade.

Shortly after earning her Master of Arts in Mathematics, Fatima got accepted to the University of Florida as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, a feat she described as a fulfilment of her goal to excel in her education.

“And so it begins! I came into the US two years ago, with a goal!!! Further my education as far as I could. Started with a masters degree and excelled at it! Today, I begin the next journey in my academic sojourn! I can only hope that it goes great as well,” the mathematics genius wrote on LinkedIn.

Fatima had an exceptional academic journey in the United States and just after 1 year of studying at the University of Florida, she announced that she has earned her second Masters degree in Mathematics.

“Master of Science, Mathematics! I’m happy to share that I’ve completed my second masters at University of Florida! This, coupled with my first masters Masters of Art, Mathematics), would mean that I have confidently mastered the “Arts and Science” of Mathematics!!! Cheers,” she said.
