The countdown to the 2023 Kids’ Choice Awards (KCAs) has officially begun. Set to air Wednesday, 8 March on NickToons (Channel 308 on DStv), this year’s KCAs will honour comedy superstar Adam Sandler with the King of Comedy Award for his prolific career in comedy as an actor, writer, producer, comedian and musician over the past 30 years. Sandler will accept his Silver Blimp from a giant, opulent throne on the KCA stage, before getting decimated in Nickelodeon’s iconic Slime.
Said Sandler, “I’ve had so many great times at this fantastic awards extravaganza and I’ll always be excited to hang with da kiddies!! Love to all!!!”
James, who will make a first-time KCA appearance, will receive the Legend Award.
The Legend Award honours athletes who are the ultimate role models to kids across the globe, inspiring generations year after year. The four-time NBA MVP will receive the Gold Blimp for his achievements on and off the court and will be recognized for empowering students and families through education and his charity, The LeBron James Family Foundation’s groundbreaking I PROMISE School.
Hosted by Nate Burleson and Charli D’Amelio, Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2023 will continue to put the fans in control as they enter a magical surreal world and feature extreme logic-defying stunts; wild celebrity collaborations and games; illusions and tricks; and epic slimings. Lerai Rakoditsoe will host the official 2023 KCA Nickelodeon Africa Special and is in L.A. shooting at the moment.
