MTN Foundation Calls For Entries On 2022 MUSON Scholarship.

MTN Foundation has commenced calls for entries on the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) scholarship programme 2022.

The scholarship, currently in its 16th year, is an annual award that provides young talented and eligible Nigerians with an opportunity to study music for two years at the leading music academy in Nigeria, MUSON, for an internationally recognised Diploma in music on graduation.

Since its inception in 2006 and partnering with MUSON, MTN Foundation has fully funded and supported over 400 music scholars. In addition to the scholarship, MTN Foundation has installed a fully equipped digital studio, a music lab with laptops, and modern musical equipment.

Commenting on the scholarship, the executive secretary of MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, said: “seeing our young scholars succeed in many genres of music around the world has been motivating. Many young Nigerians lack access to affordable and quality music education.

“We call on talented young Nigerians to maximise this opportunity. At the MTN Foundation, we are thrilled by the talent we see yearly and are looking forward to helping a new crop of individuals realise their aspirations.”

Calls for the MTN-MUSON Music Scholarship Programme 2022 are now open, as entries will close on August 21, 2022, Sanya said.

To be eligible, he said, interested candidates must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) with credits in at least five (5) subjects including the English Language, the executive director said, adding that, candidates must also possess a Higher Pass Certificate in Music (Practical and Theory) from one of the three approved bodies for music examinations: Trinity, ABRSM, or MUSON.
