Imo Carnival

The Imo Carnival (also referred to as the Imo International Carnival) holds annually from the 16th - 31st of December. It is organised by the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO).

The first edition of the carnival took place in December 2011. The carnival is aimed at celebrating the unity of all festivals in Imo State.

The carnival brings together Imo indigenes in at home and in diaspora, other Nigerians and international visitors.




The Festival also boasts of music performances, from both local and international artistes, the annual Ahianjoku festival, Ozuruimo festival, Mmanwu (masquerade), Fashion shows, traditional wrestling festivals, traditional dances etc.
