Keana Salt Village is located in Keana, the Headquarters of the Keana LGA. It is 67 km away from Lafia. The Keana salt mining industry dates back to the 12th century when the salt discovery attracted human settlement in the area. A visit to the site shows that the industry is made of huts with large pots and ridges laid out for mining of salt. Each of these huts belongs to an individual whose acquisition or ownership is by heritage.
