Affiliate Internet Marketing in Nigeria

Affiliate Internet Marketing

This basically involves selling other people's products for a commission.

This is a very good place to start as a beginner in internet marketing. Cut your teeth in selling other people's products, and when you become good at it, selling yours will be quite easy.

The main advantage is the start up cost, which is zero (minus your computer and internet connection, you are in business).

Your main job is in writing a sales copy on your site, which will put people in the frame of mind to buy, and then they click through to the merchant site to buy. For each sale you make, you are paid the agreed commission.

There are different commission structures. For some, you are paid pay lead (paid based on how many people you send to the merchant site); the most popular is per sale (a percentage of the cost price of the article the customer you sent bought at the merchant site). Still in some, once you send a customer, they are yours for a period, or for life. You get a commission on subsequent purchases at the merchant site, by that customer.

To be an affiliate marketer, you need to know how to sale, through your words (sale copy). You put together a very compelling writing up outlining the benefits to the customer and why it is a must buy.

Some people make hundreds of thousands, and millions of dollars a year through affiliate marketing. All you need is a website, a compelling write up (sales copy) and tons of traffic, and you are in business.

You can get free traffic through search engine optimization (SEO), or buy traffic through Google Adwords and other networks (Yahoo, MSN etc) that sell traffic (through showing your adverts in their site). It is called pay per click (PPC) marketing. This is covered "Driving Traffic to your site" article

If you have a flair for selling/marketing, the best was to start an online business is to own a website, choose a niche (area of interest), write useful articles about the subject, and market other peoples products (until you develop your own)
