How to invest in Nigerian Treasury Bills (NTB)
- To invest in Nigerian Treasury Bills through the primary auction, you need to open/maintain an account with a broker (Bank or investment house)
- Fill an application for or send an email with your instructions
- Fund your account, subject to the minimum accepted, the day before the primary auction.
- NTB primary auctions as held bi-monthly on Wednesdays
- If your bid is succesfull, you will be notified by your broker the day after (Thursday) and your account will be debited accordingly. An investment letter will also be sent to you including details of the Custodian where your investment is domiciled.
- Nigerian Treasury Bills come in 90 days, 180 days and 364 days tenor.
- Treasury bills is a discounted instrument, and your balance is returned to you as upfront interest.
- You get the fact value of the Treasury bills on maturity

How to invest in FGN Bonds
- To invest in Nigerian Treasury Bills through the primary auction, you need to open/maintain an account with a licensed broker
- Fill an application form
- Fund your account minimum N50M. You can buy less in the secondary market
- If your bid is succesfuly, you will be notified by your broker the day after (Thursday) and your account will be debited accordingly. An investment letter will also be sent to you including details of the Custodian where your investment is domiciled. You can choose to domicile your bonds via in the CSCS via your stockbroker
- FGN Bonds come in 5 - 30 years tenor, with tenors inbetween for reopened bonds.
- Interest/coupon is paid bi-annually
- You get the fact value of your bonds on maturity
